Redford is set to reprise his role in yet another Mega game by Get Set Games, entitled Mega Blast. It’s a top-view platformer with very static movement, and at a glance it looks like a really fun game. Personally, I haven’t played either of it’s two predecessors: Mega Jump and Mega Run, but Get Set announced that this will be the first fully 3D game in the series, and the first to run on the Unreal engine. Take a look at the trailer below:
The game looks really well designed, and also looks like it could be pretty intense at times. Between collecting coins, dodging bad guys, moving out of falling tiles, and trying to time your bomb explosions — Mega Blast will surely put your reflexes to the test. It reminds me a tad bit of Bomberman as well, which was one of my favorite games when I was growing up.
Mega Blast is slated for a Summer release, and the developer says the beta is getting very close, so keep an eye out for that. Both of the previous two games were free to download with IAPs, so we’ll go ahead and expect the same from Blast. Currently, we’ve only heard of an iOS version in the works, but Get Set has released the previous games on Android as well, so we’ll wait and see exactly what platforms this one will be featured on when released.
