Every year in December, Apple releases a new version of the  12 days of gifts app. By downloading this app, users are able to download a “gift” every day from December 26th to January 6th. For a little more information about the 12 days of gifts, such as how it originated and how it all works, check out this post. Users need to claim the gifts within 24 hours of the gift being released in order to receive it for free.

The first gift of the 2013-2014 12 Days of Gifts: iTunes Festival: London 2013 – Single

This isn’t just one track, it’s actually four different song – and they’re all live performances from London. The track list includes: Sexy Back (Live), Take Back the Night (Live), True Blood (live), and TKO (live). If you’re a fan of Justin Timberlake and haven’t already purchased these tracks, it’s definitely a nice day after Christmas gift. Unfortunately, J.T. doesn’t really suit my style, but I don’t get my hopes up too much for any great music coming from the 12 Days of Gifts.

Claiming the gift is simple, just open up your app and it should appear right away, just click “View Gift”. From there, you can just tap “Free”, and then “Get Album”, and you’ll need to sign into iTunes if you aren’t already logged in. The 12 Days of Gifts application also offers up some handy links to related albums and tracks, such as Timberlake’s new album “The 20/20 Experience”, just tap the icons below if you’re interested in any of them.

In years past, Apple has done a pretty good job of mixing up the gifts in regards to whether it’s a song, game, or other type of downloadable content; time will tell what we see next.
